Garlic Harvest

We had a successful garlic harvest this week! All three varieties we grow here on the farm did well and are now hanging to dry for the next three weeks or so. Once we get them hardened and trimmed up they will be available for purchase for $2/lb. We have been building up our stock for the past two years and can testify that they all have good flavor. In fact, we cook all meals in our family with our own garlic. Homegrown AND tasty!

Shiso Perilla Available

Red and green shiso perilla is now available for $3 a bundle. Shiso is an herb in the mint family and is used in traditional Japanese and Korean cuisines. It also has medicinal properties and can be made into a tea. We can pick it raw for you, or dry it if requested.

Iris bulbs continue to be available for $1 a bulb. We have some other random flowers and plants such as lilies, hosta and ajuga bugleweed also available. Check the Plants/Seeds page for more info on what's available and pricing.

Produce is coming! We have some green cayenne peppers on the plants, some small zucchini and cucumbers, and plenty of blooms on everything else. We have received A LOT of rain in recent weeks which has really saturated the ground so we have had a hard time planting the crops that go in a bit later than April, but we are slowly getting there. We are just happy our smaller plants survived the heavy rainfall. We had to dig a few out of the mud, but overall they held up well! More updates on produce will come as they become available.

Soldier Fly Grubs are still not available as they continue to be mostly dormant due to the cooler nights. Steady temperatures next week will likely bring them out of hibernation for the rest of the summer so we anticipate them being for sale by the end of the week.
