Hot Pepper Update

     Our hot peppers are out in full force! We have several new varieties this year, including the milder Thairano (hybrid of Thai and Serrano), medium Thai, Devil's Tongue, and the really hot Carolina Reaper. We also have our staples again this year in the Trinidad Scorpion, Ghost Bhut Jolokia, Habaneros, Cayennes, Poblanos and Jalapenos. They will all be available fresh until the first frost, which might be soon looking at the forecast, and many will be available dried as well.

     We also have a few Anaheim Chilis. The chilis struggled a lot this year. Most of the peppers were very slow growing for the Summer, but all have caught up and producing plenty with the exception of the Anaheims.

     Most of our peppers are going into Uncle Paul's Pepper Powder, made right here in middle Tennessee. Paul has a new mix this year called Dragon Fire, which features Ghost, Scorpion and Reaper peppers. If you would like to try some of his mixes let us know and we can put you in contact with him. It is great stuff! Excellent flavor with a good bite of heat.

    As always, contact us with any of your pepper needs. We can offer them fresh or dried and ship most of our products nationwide. If you are in need of larger quantities like Uncle Paul uses, please contact us with your needs for next year as we are looking to expand the hot pepper program.

Jalapeno Peppers
We can now ship our jalapeno peppers! They are doing so well this year, making many plump peppers perfect for stuffing. We will be selling them as a full USPS Priority Medium Flat Rate box, which contains approximately 50 peppers. Price will be $24 per box, including Priority shipping that will make it anywhere in the U.S. within three days. That is the only way we will ship them as we want them to arrive as fresh as possible.

Dried Cayennes
Dried peppers are back with dried cayennes now in stock. Grab a 2 oz. bag of our most popular dried peppers for just $4. Perfect for making crushed red pepper flakes! Shipping is available on these. Price depends on customer location.

Dried Herbs
We now have dried herbs! Red/Purple Shiso perilla and basil are in stock. More can be dried to order. We can also dry Parsley, Green Onion, Sage and Mint. These can be shipped!

Seeds
We now have seeds available for purchase. We do not have all of our packet sizes worked out just yet, so if you want any of these seeds just message us with how much you want and we can give you a price. We have Black Turtle Black Beans, Long Red Slim Cayenne Peppers, Cal Wonder Bell Peppers, Vine Peaches and Mammoth Sunflowers ready to go. Biscayne Peppers, Mad Hatter Peppers, Cherry Tomatoes and Hamson Tomatoes can be harvested upon your order. We can ship our seeds!

Ebay Store
We have added several new items to our Ebay store. You can now purchase a box of fresh jalapenos, dried cayennes, any of our pickles and strawberry jam. Dried herbs and seeds will be added soon! TerraCycle Shipment

     We will be sending in a shipment of foil-lined energy bar wrappers and fruit pouches to TerraCycle next month. They recycle the wrappers and pouches into a variety of products. If you have any foil-lined wrappers of any brand or fruit pouches, you can drop them off here at the farm, or find Dustin, Dina or Shannon Greer at any of the sports events listed below that will be taking place over the next month. We hope to send in more than our last shipment, which contained 1,169 wrappers. Please have them to us by September 4, so we can get them on their way.

Succulent Pots

We have worked on growing a few succulents this spring. They are in small post, perfect for sitting indoors in a sunny window. Succulents are nice and green, while requiring little maintenance. They don't need much water and can survive some harsh conditions making them perfect for the person who occasionally forgets about their plants!

Our smaller succulent pot looks like a small coffee or tea mug and sells for $3.

The larger one is a black pot for $5.

Veggie Sale & Opening of the Roadside Stand

This past weekend's Veggie Sale was a success! We had many visitors. Friday was the single biggest day of sales we have had when not combined with another event such as a yard sale. We are so grateful to everyone that stopped by and purchased something. You all are helping support our little farm! Look for Veggie Sales about once per month the rest of the summer. Watch our Facebook page for dates and times. More info about the Veggie Sale is on the Roadside Stand page.

The Roadside Stand also opened for the first time on Friday afternoon. Traffic was a bit slow, but we did make a few sales. We plan to open it Friday afternoon this summer, and maybe a few other weekday afternoon as well. Watch Facebook for updates on dates and times.

We also handed out our first CSA orders. All July allotments have been distributed. They contained various mixes of tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, squash, onions, bell peppers, biscayne peppers, jalapeno peppers, green and yellow beans, cucumbers and more! Look for your next batch in the middle of August! We might even throw in some jam next month!

Soldier Worms Are Back!

We have sufficiently increased the numbers of our Soldier Fly Grubs to be able to offer them for sale again. They are currently eating our veggie waste and turning it into compost. We are only selling smaller quantities at this time. You can get 50 grubs for $3 or 100 for $5. These quantities are not sufficient for jump-starting your compost, but work great for fishing bait or feeder worms for your pets. Check out the Soldier Grubs page for more info.

Sunflower Bouquets

We will occasionally have sunflower bouquets for purchase. We sold out of our first round very quickly, but will have more as our flowers reproduce and continue to grow this summer. We hope to have more flowers for variety in the future as we are currently building up our stock around the farm. Price will be dependent on size.
