Mustard Greens

Winter is now here. We are officially out of all summer produce and herbs for the season. Mustard greens are available at this time. We will also have collard greens, spinach, kale and Swiss chard available soon. Look for carrots, cabbage and Brussels sprouts in the latter half of Winter.

Black Soldier Fly grubs are now dormant for the winter. They will be available again in April.

Landscaping services continue to be available. We can help with yard clean-up to get your property looking good for Spring.

Thanks to all who helped us make our first season great! We sold more than expected and are expanding for next year. If you want to be part of our Growing Services program, be sure to get with us soon so we can acquire the seeds needed for Spring planting. We will grow any vegetable that will survive in our climate zone, anything you need for your special recipe at home. We already have requests for peppers and cucumbers, add your favorite to the list!

So Long Summer

Last chance to get your summer produce! We have many green bell peppers, both full-sized and some minis that are perfect for stuffing. You can pick the full-sized peppers up for 3/$1 and minis are 5/$1.



We also have random amounts of lunchbox peppers, eggplant, and green beans. We sold all of our hot peppers this morning so we are out for the season. They will all be used for seasonings and rubs. Remember we can grow peppers for your homemade sauce, seasoning or rub next season. Just let us know what you need and we will put it in the ground when Spring comes. Herbs are also available. We have cilantro for $1/bundle, basil and dill for $3/oz each, and garlic for 2 med bulbs/$1.

We have a few sweet Escamillo pepper plants for sale if anyone wants to try them out in a greenhouse over the winter. They are $1 each.



Landscaping is available for homes and businesses that need a little clean-up before winter arrives. This is the perfect time to trim your trees and bushes to prep them for next year. We can also help with clearing brush and cleaning up leaves. We can help plan and plant your garden next Spring so keep that in mind!

Soldier Fly Grubs are also still available. We have plenty. Use them for fishing bait or feeder worms for pets such as lizards, frogs and birds. They start at just $3. Find out more about our grubs here.

Fall/Winter produce is beginning to arrive. We have mustard greens and baby kale available now. Lettuce, spinach, carrots, Brussels sprouts, kohlrabi, green onions, collard greens and more will be available soon.

Landscaping

Sweetwater Farms is now offering local landscaping, including garden planning and planting. Don't have time to get your own garden started? Let us help! We can help you get plants in the ground and even pick the fruits of the labor.

Our landscaping services also include flower bed preparation, weeding, tree/bush pruning and planting, brush clearing, mulching and landscape design. We serve the Pleasant View, Ashland City, Springfield, Adams and Clarksville areas, covering both residences and businesses. Contact us with your ideas and we will help make your property sweet!

Still Coming!

The peppers, eggplant and herbs are still growing! When everyone else has stopped for the season, you can still find great summer veggies here. We currently have bell (green and colored), poblano, habanero, jalapeno, carmen and banana peppers ready to be picked. Medium-sized eggplants are available. As for herbs, we have basil, dill and cilantro ready to be cut. Claim yours now before the frost comes!

Late Summer Produce

     The tomatoes and peppers continue to come in. We have plenty of all varieties of tomatoes available. As for peppers, come grab some red or green bells, sweet carmens and escamillos, bananas, lunch box, jalapenos, habaneros and poblanos.

     We also have a few eggplant available, along with plenty of herbs. Get your basil, oregano, parsley, and shiso perilla from us now!



     Don't forget our Growing Services program is now in place. We are currently planting our winter crops for spring harvest, and taking early orders for next summer. If you have any specific variety of garlic, greens or Brussels sprouts you want, let us know and we will grow it for you over the winter months. That guarantees you get exactly what you want for your favorite meals. We have had good success with this program this summer, with several locals turning our peppers into rubs, sauces and seasonings. Like them, we can help you with any of your special recipes!

Tomatoes Are In!

     We have plenty of vine-ripening tomatoes on the farm right now. Come get your Roma, Big Boy, German Johnson and Mountain Pride varieties. The Romas are delicious and perfect for use in homemade pasta or pizza sauces. $1.50/lb for all types.

     We have green tomatoes as well for anyone wanting to try some fried green tomatoes, a southern delight!

Introducing Sweetwater Growing Services

     Ever needed something specific to make your special homemade sauce? Do you need a certain type of pepper for your seasoning or rub? Need a blend of herbs for cooking your favorite meal, but can't find the ones you need at the grocery store and don't have time to grow your own?

     Starting this Fall, Sweetwater Farms will be offering growing services where we can grow anything you need, specifically for you! You tell us what type of vegetable or herb you need, or send us the seeds of that special variety. We will do all the work from planting to harvest. Many of our veggies and herbs are currently being used to make pasta and pizza sauce, spicy seasonings, salsa and relishes. We can help you get the ingredients you need for your favorite homemade recipe. We can handle most any kind of plant that can be grown in our region, such as peppers, tomatoes, beans, herbs, specialty pumpkins, winter squash and garlic.

Summer Offerings

     The summer produce is here and ready for you! Let us know what you want and we can pick it fresh for you to pick up.

     There is a steady stream of bell, banana, ancho, jalapeno, habanero, carmen and chili peppers available. Also, tomatoes are hitting their prime. We have several different varieties to choose from.





     As for herbs, we currently have basil, red shiso perilla, dill and oregano.

NOW OPEN!

     Sweetwater Farms is now officially open! The produce is starting to trickle in. We have a steady stream of squash, zucchini, bell peppers, sweet banana peppers and Chinese Napa cabbage coming in right now. On the herb side of things, oregano and our newest addition, Red Shiso Perilla, are in. Soldier fly grubs are also ready for purchase. Make sure to get some for your July 4th weekend fishing adventures! Check the Facebook page for more info on what's available and contact us to reserve your goods. We will pick them fresh and have them ready when you arrive.

     We had a delayed start to growing this year due to moving locations in the Spring, but now we are ready to be a bigger and better farm with more to offer. We are still just minutes from Pleasant View and I-24, continuing to be convenient to Ashland City, Springfield, Clarksville and even Nashville. See the About page for more info on our farm.

Welcome to Sweetwater Farms!

Welcome to our new blogger website! Sweetwater Farms is a small farm that produces fresh vegetables, herbs, plants, seeds, black soldier fly larvae and homemade ice cream. We also offer bicycle repair services. The farm will be officially open July 1, 2016.

Sweetwater Farms is located in Chapmansboro, Tennessee, on the edge of the town of Pleasant View. The farm is operated by Dustin and Shannon Greer. The goal of the farm is to feed the Greer family, but there are always plenty of extras that we are now prepared to pass along to our friends and neighbors. Our hope is to able to offer you quality home-grown and homemade goods at a reasonable price.
